  • Administers and directs the management of the building services operations for all UC San Diego graduate housing facilities, with an approximate $6M operational budget, servicing 7 remote apartment communities, hotel rooms, conference rooms, offices, gyms, swimming pools, sports courts and parking structures, directly servicing over 5500 residents.
  • Leads and develops a team of 60+ unionized associates with an additional 30+ staff during peak times, and 4+ direct report supervisors. Administers the overall people management, direction, performance management, coordination and performance evaluation of the team. Provides guidance on performance standards by setting clear and realistic performance guidelines. Communicates policies and job expectations to associates, holding them responsible for their work. Takes corrective action as necessary, documenting issues and actions taken. Develops and implements training programs that have improved the quality and productivity of the team.   • Student Experience Enhancement Project: Worked diligently in collaboration with other departments to create inviting outdoor spaces and increase the quality of campus living. Introduced innovative ideas for the spaces, such as the solar powered umbrellas and the Hammock Lounge.
